Election of 1904 Theodore Roosevelt Equality Buttons

President:Theodore Roosevelt
Vice President:Charles Fairbanks
Colors:Most of these buttons are in black and white, but color buttons do exist. Colored versions are very valuable.
Sizes:1 1/4", 1 3/4"

There are some interesting buttons from the Election of 1904 focusing on racial issues, stemming in large part from a controversial dinner that Roosevelt and Booker T. Washington shared at the White House. Republicans played up this dinner with a button featuring a picture of the scene reading “Equality”, while Democrats may have used this button in a negative way. This is a highly-sought after button and a classic among collectors. This button is very valuable, with colored buttons being especially valuable.
