Honest Days With Davis is an allusion to the Teapot Dome Scandal. The Teapot Dome scandal occurred under during President Harding’s term before his death. Basically, one of Harding’s cabinet members was convicted of leasing petroleum reserves to oil companies at a very low cost. One of these reserves was at a location known as Teapot Dome in Wyoming. This was a big deal during this time, and, naturally, the Democrats wished to capitalize on the scandal to get their candidate elected.
