Election of 1928 Herbert Hoover Portrait Buttons

President:Herbert Hoover
Vice President:Charles Curtis
Year:1928
Party:Republican
Colors:Variety of Colors
Theme:Portrait

After President Coolidge made the decision not to seek a second term, Herbert Hoover became the Republican candidate. His Democratic opposition was Alfred E. Smith, who was the first Roman Catholic to ever be nominated for President. This caused quite a stir, and many campaign items center solely on Smith’s Catholicism. There is more Hoover memorabilia than that of candidates of the preceding few years, but it is still relatively uncommon. Jugates are more valuable than Portrait buttons.
