The 1932 Election saw the incumbent candidate Herbert Hoover struggling against the Great Depression, which had gripped the country for most of his term. Democratic governor Franklin Roosevelt promised to change things with his New Deal ideology. Accordingly, many of the more unusual buttons from this time deal with slogans related to the Depression. There is more Hoover memorabilia than that of candidates of the preceding few years, but it is still relatively uncommon. Jugates are more valuable than Portrait buttons.
