This is a small set of intricately designed pieces that were presented to the First Lady as a gift. Though there was a decent amount of china purchased during the Cleveland administration, none of it was for State use but rather the personal tastes of Mrs. Cleveland. It should also be noted that the china purchased was generally not of any special design but from companies and patterns commercially available to the public. Thus, it is difficult to determine whether or not a piece was actually used in the White House.
