Andrew Johnson

Born:1808
Died:1875
Political Party:Democrat
Offices Held:President (1865 - 1869)
Vice President (1865)
United States Senator (1875 , 1857-1862)
Andrew Johnson became president after the tragic death of Abraham Lincoln and oversaw the daunting task of post-civil war reconstruction. He was the first president to ever be impeached. Generally, he is not a highly regarded president, and there is a lack of memorabilia related to him. Campaign materials are generally not available since he never ran for President. Any campaign materials will feature him as the vice presidential candidate. It may be possible for collectors to find written letters and other signed documents, but Johnson only learned to write when he was an adult, so his letters are understandably few and brief. Many of his letters were written by secretaries, and he relied heavily on his staff as far as communication went. Andrew Johnson Presidential China Signature
