Grover Cleveland was the 22nd President of the United States and is the only President to have served two nonconsecutive terms. Things began to get a little more exciting for memorabilia during Cleveland’s first run for President. Funny third party candidate items were created that make great novelty items for collectors. Among the most noted of Cleveland’s other items is a shell badge with torchlight picturing Grover Cleveland. “Reform” and “Public Office in a Public Trust” were two campaign themes, and collectors will see many items reflecting this. A decent number of written documents and letters should be available as well - Cleveland wrote many of his own documents, only using secretaries when he was very busy. He used a typewriter to compose letters as well. Grover Cleveland Presidential China Signature
Grover Cleveland holds the distinction of being the only president to serve two non-consecutive terms. Cleveland wrote many of his own documents, only using secretaries when he was very busy. He used a typewriter to compose letters as well. His handwriting was very small and a bit difficult to read. He signed items with his full name, Grover Cleveland, and used a flourish on the last “d” of “Cleveland”.
