James Polk was the 11th President of the United States. Polk is generally a well-regarded President, establishing a variety of important policies and landmarks. Polk collectors will find a small assortment of items related to his presidency, including flag banners, button devices, and signed letters and documents. Shell medalets appeared in Polk’s presidential campaign for one of the first times. These are scarce items constructed of two thin shells joined together.
