John Tyler was the 10th President of the United States. Tyler was the first President to gain office without being elected, as he began his term after William Henry Harrison's death. Tyler only served one term as President and was not regarded very highly. Generally, there is not a lot of memorabilia related to Tyler. One of his favorite causes was the annexation of Texas, so some materials may feature this theme in the form of ribbons or brooches. Tyler did not have an official state service set of China, so collectors desiring these pieces will be disappointed. Some written materials may be found such as letters and signed documents.
