Warren G. Harding

Born:1865
Died:1923
Political Party:Republican
Offices Held:President (1921 - 1923)
US Senator (1915 - 1921)
Warren Harding was the 29th President of the United States, only serving for three years before his sudden death while on a Western Tour. Warren G. Harding was a relatively uninteresting President and not very highly regarded, but his lack of campaign materials make him attractive to collectors. Buttons are relatively scarce and jugates of Harding and his running mate, Calvin Coolidge, are even more scarce. Memorabilia from Harding’s opposition James Cox (along with running mate FDR) is very rare and very highly valued among collectors. Buttons during this period are blander than their predecessors and, for the first time, made of lithographed tin rather than celluloid. A major scandal during Harding’s time in office was the Teapot Dome Scandal, so anything relating to this will be higher valued among collectors. Warren G. Harding Presidential China Signature
Harding was the 19th President, and he saw a bit of scandal during his political career. The majority of Warren G. Harding’s letters were typed. His secretary also drafted and signed a large number of his letters, replicating Harding’s signature almost impeccably. He signed letters as “WG Harding” or “Warren G. Harding”, with a flourished emphasis on the “g” in Harding.
